<p>Graduated in musical composition (Conservatorium of Bari), Electronic Music (Conservatorium of S. Cecilia in Rome), and Clarinet (Conservatorium "A. Casella"), Massimo Munari (1976) studied musical composition in Rome as a pupil of David Macculi, Maurizio Gabrielli and Riccardo Santoboni, and at the "Scuola di Musica di Fiesole" as a pupil of Giacomo Manzoni. He also attended the 1996-1997 summer courses at the "Accademia Musicale Chigiana" in Siena, with Franco Donatoni. He was awarded with a special degree at the "2nd musical composition contest P. Barsacchi" (Viareggio, 1998), and with the first prize at the musical composition contest "Stefano Ciani" in Siena, by a Jury presieded by Luciano Berio. His music has been performed in Italy and abroad. Some of his works has been published by the publisher "Sconfinarteā. As a clarinetist he has been a pupil of Ivo Meccoli. He played as soloist and as member of various chamber groups by very important musical institutions (Music Academy of Pescara, Nuova Consonanza, Musica verticale, Accademia di S. Cecilia), performing mainly modern and contemporary music. He has given concert in important music festivals throughout Italy, some of which have been nationally broadcasted by RaiTrade International.</p>
